Not only are they deeper, they now play in a weaker conference. Maybe 1 or 2 teams will challenge the Lakers in the West. The east is a lot tougher, with Orlando, Boston, Atlanta, and Chicago all capable of challenging for the top spot.

Lakers! Much deeper bench, and to much height advantage. Plus the Lakers have been together for 2 years now. Miami needs time to gel.

Miami has all the pieces in place now after losing in the NBA Finals. Haslem is back from an injury, and the bench has improved with good picks in the oof season. (Wade has to remain healthy is the key). Lakers has injured proned Bynum,aged Fisher and weaker benched.
