This league already has a poor public image and dwindling ratings. Teams are getting a bailout from their cities, Pacers, to continue to operate. I don't think the NBA would take the chance of shutting down. This would be a PR disaster and financial suicide.
I think one of the biggest issues are the guaranteed contracts
Becasue they are a bunch of greedy scum. Both sides. They havent learned a thing from their past or other sports.
The spoiled rich brats always think they are under paid. The owners take the risk and should be rewarded for it.
Because, they make enough already
